Improvijazzation Nation, issue # 100

Issue # 100 is now ARCHIVED, due to space issues on WORDPRESS. Click HERE to view the archived page. Here are a few of the things you’ll find in this issue.

INTERVIEW – My interview page for this (hopefully, very temporary) “swan song” issue is dedicated to links of my own music… to give you something to listen to from me while I’m getting setup over in Korea again… it will probably be 2-4 months before I’m back up on the nets with issue #101… (think about that, Improvijazzation Nation 101… sounds like an introductory college course for wacko-zoids, does it not… ha! ha!).

There’s only one LIVE SHOW review on my ZzajRant page this time, along with a few other thoughts about my move.

Evermore exciting MUSIC reviews  (We have 16 splendid new reviews in this issue… as you know if you read us regularly, we usually have 20 or more, but I’m almost as the point of packing my machine up, so I got as many as I could before wrapping the issue up)… here are a few of the artists that are featured:

Ann Sweeten

Harry Allen

Joe Beck & Laura Theodore

Kat Parra & The Sephardic Music Experience

Nilson Matta’s Brazilian Voyage with Harry Allen and Anne Drummond

In Issue # 101 (& later):

More fine interviews  & music reviews with today’s energy “shakers & movers”

NOTE:  We have a MOVE coming up very shortly… unless things change, my wife and I will be moving back to the Land Of Morning Calm.  For that reason, I’ve asked all our promoters to hold off on submissions until I “land” over there (sometime towards the end of March or early April)  Please use zzajunique@hotmail.com for all inquiries!  Be SURE to check the ZzajRANT for more information about this!

We don’t take poetry submissions by snail; please e-mail poetry submissions to zzajunique@hotmail.com  – but DO email us anything you have you would like published – we are sorely in need of more poetry, as some of our previous submissions got “lost” when my HD crashed last month.

Testimonials:

Long-time reader and musician Dave Fuglewicz:  I.N. was one of the first ‘zines to respond to my work. It was a great ‘zine way back then and has maintained the highest of standards every step of the way. ‘Zines have come and gone, some with great fanfare, some with quiet aplomb, but few can match the Zzaj for the dedication and fortitude it takes to keep cranking it out. Diversity and … originality are recognized and applauded, that, in my opinion has always been one of I.N.’s greatest “traits”. Number 93 brings us all ever closer to the magical 100th issue. I highly recommend a visit and a read. Y’all get there now. 🙂

Music promoter Ann Braithwaite’s followon to Dave’s comment:  Couldn’t agree with you more, Dave. And have you heard Dick’s music? Great!!
