Issue # 133 Zzaj Rant

    As I wrap up yet another issue, I can’t help but wonder how much longer I’ll be doing this ‘zine… I hope for a long time, of course, but there IS a retirement looming in the very near future.  Of course, those who have read my ‘zine for a while know that I intend to have this magazine be what “carries me over” in my golden years.  Of course, they won’t be nearly as gold-filled now that Uncle Sam is putting us on furlough – that started this week…. I’ll be off every Friday between now & the end of September, 2013 – & who knows what will happen after that – there are heavy, HEAVY rumors of a RIF (Reduction In Force) next year – just have to wait & see, I reck

     If you’d like to help keep this ‘zine alive, one of the easiest ways to do it is to REGISTER with us… then add your comments in the comments block(s) at the end of each page or post…. I would sincerely appreciate that, especially from artists I review here – it only takes a few moments & it’s free – NO charges at all!

     One other thing I’d like to note is that our digital submissions have increased by at least 50% in just the last six months…. both promoters & artists are sending me material that way, and I can tell you, it’s a big cost-savings for those who don’t have 1000’s of dollars to spend on printing, packing and mailing out individual CD’s…. if you’re a player or promoter, please consider submitting your material that way…. it actually takes less time for the reviewers, too, as you’ve already labelled all your tunes, & then they don’t have to be “ripped” again, either.

     Still lots more coming through this summer, and as the “guv-i-mint” forms it’s final plans for what they will cut, I’ll keep you all informed about where I will be & how I can continue this reviewing labor of love!   More l8r!
